Jeremy grew up in the water damage industry. Both his parents ran the restoration company he would eventually grow to run himself. He started “in the trucks” in 1990 and in 2002 moved into full-time management as his folks retired.
Along the way Jeremy developed the eTes Heat Drying System, created Reets.tv and founded the Reets Drying Academy.
Our conversation quickly turned to the new IICRC S500 Drying standard. While we both stayed away from the more “political” waters of the IICRC, I believe we’re both waiting to see what happens.
“How do you present a standard of care when it’s never been done?”
“What’s at stake is the viability of the S500.”
Jeremy’s #1 Piece of Advice for new folks was: “Set realistic objectives, then don’t allow yourself to divert from those.”
Having more than my share of Shiny Object Syndrome, that advice is well headed.
